Basic Lacrosse Stick Drills

Wall Ball Drill:

Make sure to keep your opposite foot forward (Right throw, left foot forward; Left throw, right foot forward) and turn a little to the side. Do not square up to the wall.

-1 set of 15 reps each hand from 5ft away.

-1 set of 15 reps each hand from 10ft away.

-1 set of 15 reps each hand from 15ft away.

Then progress back down to 5ft.

This drill should take 20 minutes the first time out. You can measure your improvement by the length of time it takes you to go through the cycle. Start out slow; keep your stick straight up and down. NO SIDE ARM!!! As you progress, increase the speed of the pass.

Groundball Drill:

Go up and down the field and pick up 100 ground balls. Very simple drill but effective. Make sure that you roll the ball 5ft in front of you and get low. Work on running through the groundball. Make sure you bring the stick to your chest to protect it.

Cradle Drill:

Have a stick in your hand as much as possible. This is as EASY as it gets. 10 Minutes a day

-one hand cradle right/left

-two hand cradle right/left

-use a tennis ball if inside.

It does not get any more basic! Five times a week for the next three months and see how much better you get. No Excuses!!!!
